Opt out of Melissa
Melissa is a data broker registered in California and based in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. A data broker collects and sells personal details about people it has no direct relationship with, so you never hear from it first. Ways to ask it: request by email, privacy page.
How to ask Melissa to remove your information
- Open Melissa's page on California privacy rights , the one it gave the state.
- Choose the request you want. California privacy law lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you, to stop selling or sharing it, and to tell you what it has.
- Keep a copy of what you send and the date. Some brokers ask you to confirm who you are before they act.
- Check again in a few months. Brokers can add you back when they refresh their records, so one request is not always the end of it.
